Transfer Pulley belt too short

After clearancing the water pump so that the transfer pulley to crank pulley tensioner pulley spun freely, I attempted to install the belt and transfer pulley per the aa video:

But the belt was too short. Texted Josh, he said to remove the tensioner, install the belt/transfer pulley, then install the tensioner assembly. Tried, that despite that not matching the video, and it helped, but the belt was still too short (and waaay too short to get the tensioner back in. Very different than the video above.

I also verified the belt was fully seated on the balancer as that could have explained it appearing to be too short, but that looked good. Just too short.

Josh suggested getting another belt as some of the same part number are longer than others, or that I could try a longer one, but I just can’t shake the feeling something is wrong with that bracket that cascaded into all of these issues (except the pinning fixture, that is definitely unrelated.)
